Upcycled play idea: Create your own mini sea

When you have kids there are so many great ways to turn waste into an imaginative play opportunity.

Here’s a sweet little idea for your and your minis. Why not hit the beach (or local craft store and sandpit) and turn an old container into a mini sea world that is sure to delight!

And the best part? If you already have a glue gun and a couple of old jars lying around, this fun family activity won’t cost a dime! Don’t live near the beach? Worry not my friend, create a mini forest or creek instead.

What you will need:

Clear lidded container, preferably plastic for the littlies

Assortment of shells and sand, plus water if you want to take it to the next level

Optional: hot glue gun to seal the lid and avoid spills

This one is pretty straight forward. Fill your container with shells and sand resembling your own beach, and add water to create your own little sea world.

I promise this one will provide hours and hours of entertainment for your little ones!
