Come and see our farmhouse inspired entry way and discover the pieces I chose to make this space warm and welcoming.
Entry Way Essentials
The entry way is the space that casts the first impression and sets the tone for the rest of your home, so it must be stylish, well-organised and functional.
It’s a great place to start when making over your home in farmhouse style. With just a few carefully chosen pieces you can create a really beautiful aesthetic.
Above all the entry must be welcoming and offer great storage solutions, as it tends to become a dumping ground for bags, shoes and other loose ends.
Moving into a new house gave me the chance to reinvent our entry way by adding a few new pieces and hunting down some fabulous thrifty finds.
Clever Storage Solutions
I picked up a vintage hat rack from Facebook Marketplace for a really good price. It had already been revived with chalk paint and matched the console table perfectly.
The round mirror is functional and provides a focal point on the wall. I like the way the mirror is slightly off centre and visually connected to the console table by the tall dried floral arrangement.
The reclaimed timber console table anchors the space and offers much needed storage. I love the way this rustic timber patina of the table top contrasts agains the other white tones in this space.
Not just a pretty face, the table offers handy bench space and a pretty perch for a fragrant and welcoming scented candle.
I found the perfect size woven sea grass baskets to fit under the table at Big W. The great thing about these baskets is they aren’t too deep and have an open top so you don’t forget what’s stored in there.
A statement dried natural floral arrangement in a white ceramic vase adorns the console table, adding texture, colour and warmth to the space. I choose to include some grasses and grains to give off a country vibe. I love how dried florals are low maintenance and plastic free.
A Warm Welcome
A pineapple welcome mat from Pillowtalk was the perfect kitsch addition to our Farmhouse Entry Way. Apart from being practical, pineapples are a symbol of hospitality.
With just a few low maintenance and thrifty pieces we have created a calming and inviting entry way which we love. The storage really works for us and we somehow manage to keep the area pretty tidy and clutter free.
